Samuel Justus Recreational Trail runs from Oil City to Franklin, PA, where it connects to the Allegheny River Trail for a combined 38 miles of paved biking along the Allegheny River and through woodland from Oil City to Emlenton. Very popular with bikers, walkers, and runners.

Franklin to Oil City

Old abandoned (and some working) oil wells, spectacular scenery through the Alleghenies and along the river. One remnant is of a power house that ran 14 wells along the river. River Ridge along the trail was the estate and farm of an early oil mogul.
